Is Poker Straddle A Bad Idea? Well, Experts Don’t Agree!

FYI, a Poker Straddle is a voluntary, blind bet made by a player before the cards are dealt. So, if you straddle effectively, you will buy the big blind and double your stakes.

Straddling in Poker is considered a bad idea: your total EV (expected value) for a specific hand goes down after straddling!

Experts are saying it’s a good idea, especially when everyone else on the table has opted to straddle. Or if you are playing at some loose, passive table, then you must straddle!

The trick is simple - if you are good at Poker, then go for it. But if you are learning the ropes, then let it be!
