There are twelve Jacks, Queens, and Kings in a deck of 52 cards. These cards are also known as Court Cards or Face Cards. Here, the number is twelve simply because each individual suit comes with one of each value card. This is indicative of how each suit has one King, Queen, and Jack.

In that case, in a standard deck, the total number of suits happens to be four – Spades, Clubs, Diamonds, and Hearts.

This basically means that every individual suit comes with one King, one Queen, and one Jack. That is three cards for each suit—a total of four suits, which makes a total of twelve Face cards in a standard deck.

There are three Royalty Cards in every suit (1 King, 1 Queen, and 1 Jack), and in total, there are 4 suits, making it a total of 12 Royalty cards.

What Is The Probability Of Getting A King Card In A Deck Of 52 Cards?

This is indicative of the fact that, in total, there are four Kings in a standard deck of cards. If you do draw 1 card randomly, the probability of obtaining 1 card will be 1/52.

But since there are four Kings, you will get four chances instead of just one to draw a specific card. Now, there are 52 cards you can choose from—out of these 52 cards, four are Queens.

So, every single time you are drawing a card, you will get 4 out of 52 chances of getting a Queen, which can be simplified down to 1 out of 13 chances.
