1. Setting Up The Table:

• Deal 7 Cards Each To All The Players:
If you find that your card deck has any extra cards like instruction cards or jokers, then it’s best that you keep these aside – you can use the remaining 52 cards. Before you deal with the standard cards, ensure that you are shuffling and mixing these. While dealing, begin clockwise – if you are the dealer, then start with the person sitting on your left.
• Turn Up 4 Cards:
Simply turn 4 cards on top of the deck while laying them out. Make sure it’s in a basic cross pattern in such a way that each card is facing one direction – north, south, west, and east. Once you do this, you will notice open spaces between the cards that make up the cross. So when any player finds a King, the card will be kept at any of the free spaces.
The pile created with the help of 4 non-king cards becomes your foundation pile. Don’t forget to keep any new card in the space that the King has left, and then place your remaining card deck in the center of your four foundation piles.
• Ask All The Players To Pick Their Cards:

- Allowing the player with the closest birthday,
- Asking the player sitting on the dealer’s left,

- Drawing straws.
• Let The Picking Up Of Cards Begin With Player 1:
Every turn will start with each player drawing one card. Once player one has picked a card from the deck’s top, the next thing would be to begin discarding cards. The purpose of this game is to lose all the cards in your hand.
• Let Player 1 Discard The Allowable Cards:
There are 2 different ways in which you can discard cards,
- If you have a ‘K’ card, you can simply place the same in any empty corner and create a pile known as King Foundation.
- If you don’t have a ‘K’ card, then you can simply discard your card on top of any foundation piles kept on your table.
In order to discard your card on any foundation piles, your card must have a color that is opposite to the one kept on top. This discarded card also has to be a number that’s relatively smaller. In this context, the sequence of your cards will be
“king, queen, jack, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, ace.”
When players begin to discard the cards, make sure these discarded cards overlap each other in a way that the ones lying below are visible as well. Moreover, if the only or even the last card in any foundation pile turns out to be an Ace, you can’t play a card on this – instead, you have to merge the same with a different pile.
• Allow Player One To Merge Files:
In a game of Kings In The Corner, all players can merge foundation piles when it’s their turn in case they are able to complete the entire sequence. Now, if you remove one foundation pile, then you can also fill up the space left behind with either a card sequence or with just one card from the ones in their hands.
• Time For Player Two To Begin:
Once player one has completed discarding, merging cards, and filling up spaces, then it becomes the second player’s turn to make their play. While doing so, it is vital that you keep in mind that each player needs to pick a single card when each turn starts. Don’t forget to go clockwise when the turn moves to the second player.
• Keep Playing Till One Player Gets Eliminated:
The chief purpose of King Of The Cards is to eliminate all the cards from your hand. It’s a lot like UNO in this aspect – the moment one player gets rid of all their cards, the game is considered over. However, remember discarding also includes the card that’s picked right at the start of the game’s final turn.
